superbowl…what?

I am obviously NOT the most in-tuned person with the superbowl. I know absolutely NOTHING about it. Literally.

Incident 1: 

The day after my arrival from Taiwan I am At Tapioca house with some friends. Everyone kept talking about how Dallas traffic is going to be crazy…and how the superbowl was blah blah blah.

Me: I didn’t know the superbowl was THAT big of a deal.
Patrick: Umm, yea steph. of course it is! what are you talking about?
(people keep talking about traffic…then it comes to me)
Me: OH! is the superbowl going to be in dallas?!?!
Patrick, Michelle, everyone…pauses.
Patrick: WOW.
Me: -_-“

Incident 2:

This was my first week of work. One of the topic discussions we were supposed to discuss was the superbowl. ::sigh:: this was also in front of my entire class.

Interviewer: So, what do you think about the superbowl?
Me:  I am excited! It’s going to be in dallas this year.
Interviewer: who are you rooting for?!?!
Me:  umm…honestly, I’m not too into football
Interviewer: Oh really? Who is your favorite team
Me: The texas longhorns
::class laughs::
Me: Hey, I don’t watch professional football alright?

Incident 3:

Arrived in DFW. Driver is talking to me about the game this weekend. I am trying to sound educated.

Me: So, Packers vs. Saints….its a BIG deal!
Driver: -_-” haha…*awkward silence…* you’re joking right?

Incident 4:

Chatting with lovely Olivia
