This is a weed.
Here I am on a Tuesday night listening to Chopin’s “Nocturnes”, reading “Case in Point”, practicing analytical math problems, and the time is exactly 8:42 p.m. I’m about to call it a night at 9:30 p.m.
Quarter of a century life crisis, please hit me so I don’t feel so damn antique.
In the midst of all this “diligence”, I am looking into buying a condo/townhome in the uptown area. I charted for a good two hours different case scenarios where the variable rates were in the cost of my home, mortgage, possible interest rates, and tax brackets. I wanted to do my due diligence to avoid the father from coming back with flaws in my work. He still managed to probe on very valid questions (doh!) but ended the long winded e-mail with “good job, stephanie”. :) I managed to please the boss man (aka. the one man i truly look up to).
Now that I am done being a geek with my lover, Excel, I am finally finding some time to post on recent events and common thoughts.
What would YOU do in the following situation:
You are about to get a promotion in the next month. You have a great boss who always vouches for you and praises you. Your whole team gets along with you and life really is great, but you’re just bored. Nothing is challenging you. You make any problem look like cake (maybe thats a bit too boisterous). You just aren’t passionate about your work, but the title is prestigious and the pay is pretty freaking awesome. Also, it’ll be a great addition to the resume.
Prior to your known knowledge of a promotion, you decide to hunt for a job you’d be much more passionate about. You want to be challenged by elitists. The one company you think you’d do well in simply because your hearts in it and you’d be a good fit wants you. Would you take the job? The pay won’t be as great (still not bad), and you’d be starting from scratch.
IF it were me, I’d go where my heart is…and that would be the second. Unfortunately, not a lot of people see it that way. And of course, there are several more variables to the question. But in a general sense…what would you do? Hmm…
I’m done with my quick rambling.
Ending with Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. Reminds me of the days when I played this on the piano so terribly ungraceful. Good times. Clock out, 8:54 p.m.
