It’s funny.
While on the road, I bitch and moan about being “too” go-go-go. Now, on the “beach” (aka. not on a project so am pretty dormant in Dallas), I wake up thinking “what am I going to do today that will kill 8 hours”?
Life is good.
I’ve been doing a lot of things that make me happy. The following are a few of the things I’ve been mindlessly doing for the last couple of weeks since “whaling” (tee hee hee) on the beach:
- Incessant cleaning of my apartment. I don’t know why, but my apartment gets “dirty” almost every day. I vacuum, wash dishes, clean the toilet, wash the sheets, dust on a regular basis. I wonder if I was this anal when I actually stayed in Dallas for long periods of time…
- Morning news - gotta love Robin Meade on repeat and the “squawk” on the street. (he he he)
- Yoga - I’m still terribly inflexible. I look like a fool and act like a fool, but I FEEL great! HOOZAH.
- Cooking - I’ve been making all kinds of weird shit. I like experimenting, and it usually ends up being pretty terrible. IT’S OK. I call it trial and error…more error than success though. That’s the problem with taking the “shortcut” lesson to cooking (aka. calling mom and asking her to walk through the process while I’m pouring the ingredients into a pan)
- Secret Santa giving - I have this radical idea. My secret person is also a really good friend of mine. TEE HEE HEE. …TEE HEE HEEEEEEE.
- Reading - still on the same book. “The Big Short” by Michael Lewis. I hate reading books like this, but I try to act like I give a damn. In actuality, it really has increased my reading speed. I read as fast as I can so I can get through it (maybe absorb 35% of the content), and then claim that “I’ve read the book, and it’s great!”. Really, it’s not that interesting. Maybe to someone who is really into CDO’s and the financial crisis of 2008…and gives a damn about the politics around our financial system.
- Epsom salt baths with candles - I am so romantic to myself. I’ve bathed myself 3 nights in a row, and it feels fantastic. The smell of lavender bath salt, super hot water, and candles. Life is oh-so-fantastic.
- Access Databases - I’m learning to build access databases…for no particular reason. I guess cause training is available, and I’ve been meaning to learn about it. woopie…
- Flickr! FINALLY I am uploading photos. I wonder if it takes everyone flipping forever to load a single album. I’m on album 15 with 30 more to go. This is an everlasting project…
- Sony NEX 3C - still a mystery. Aperture what? Lighting what? Why can’t you just be a smart camera that tells me what to do!!!!
I also realize I am an extremely awkward person to be around when I don’t know you very well. Verbal diarrhea just runs and runs…and runs.
