This is a weed.
This is a weed.
Argument: Friend states that it is rare for a guy to meet a girl who is truly driven and it has been programmed into a female’s head to act/say certain things to give us credibility. He noted that all women say “I want to be independent of my significant other and build my own career” or “I am driven and want to build a successful career and not depend on my S.O. to bring home the bacon” Somehow, my friend said what that really translates into is “we really just want to fuck all day, have children, and be cute little housewives.”
I kinda giggled.
thought about it.
can understand why he would say that…and it could be applicable to a lot of girls.
but not me…
While it sounds grandeur to sit at home in a little apron, have teatime eating crumpets, gossip about the neighborhood slut, that is hardly how I envision my future self.
You ask me, “where do you see yourself 5 years from now”. This is exactly how I see it 2 years from now (5 years is too long therefore extremely unforeseeable. Especially for young people):
* Pursuing my “new” career
* Read more thought provoking novels by authors like Malcolm Gladwell, Stieg Larsson, Levitt & Dubner, etc.
* Living in my new house.
* Learning how to cook.
* Doing things young people do (like jumping off planes, riding camels, going on 19 mile hikes).
* Visiting Africa (maybe in 3 years…just maybe)
* Making a positive difference in a child’s life (not my own).
* Not being a housewife :)
The argument ended on the notion that we agree to differ. I can only speak for myself :) Besides, a person’s goals changes and what I think I want now may or may not be what I want 5, 10, 15 years from now. That’s the beauty of life…the trials and tribulations of every day.
who said a new year’s resolution begins with a new year? Why not make it a constant? I don’t see why not. therefore, i will do.
